Discover the incredible history of Turkey, a land rich in culture, cuisine and heritage, the great crossroad between Europe and Asia.   A land of great contrasts, from ancient sites including Ephesus and Aspendos, the WW I history of the Gallipoli Peninsula, lush cotton fields along and a warm welcome. A highlight is exploring Turkey’s magnificent southern coastline with the opportunity to swim in the turquoise waters, a boat trip to the sunken city of Kekova and visits to local villages to discover more of local life. Travelling north experience the incredible fairy chimney landscape of Cappadocia, before returning via the world heritage town of Safranbolu en route to Istanbul.


Special highlight: On Gallipoli Peninsula, there is time to reflect as you visit Anzac Cove, the Australian memorial site of Lone Pine, and the New Zealand site of Chunuk Bair.

Day 1 Instanbul: 

Welcome to Turkey. On arrival, you will be met by a representative of our local operator (look for your a sign with your name on) and then transferred to your tour hotel where accommodation is reserved for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis.3

Day 2: Istanbul (B)
After breakfast at the hotel depart for a guided tour of Istanbul. Visit Topkapi Palace Museum(excluding harem), residence of the Ottoman Sultans between the years 1453–1852. Visit the Blue Mosque, built between 1609 and 1616, famous for its blue ceramic tiles. Your last stop will be at the famous Spice Market.

Day 3: Istanbul - Gallipoli – Canakkale (BD)
After breakfast at the hotel drive to Gallipoli and visit Anzac Cove, Chunuk Bair, Lone Pine, and the 57th regiment memorial. Cross the Dardanelles. Overnight stay in Canakkale.

Day 4: Canakkale - Troy - Pergamum – Kusadasi (BD)
After breakfast at the hotel drive to legendary Troy: the site of the Trojan War. Then cross the Ida Mountains to arrive at Pergamum. Visit the Acropolis. Overnight stay in Kusadasi.

Day 5: Kusadasi - Ephesus - Sirince – Kusadasi (BD)
After breakfast there is a short drive to Ephesus where you will have the opportunity to discover and understand the rich history behind local handicrafts such as handmade carpets and tiles. Continue to the village of Sirince, one of the most beautiful villages in Turkey. Free time for shopping or to taste the local wines. Return to Kusadasi for your overnight stay.

Day 6: Kusadasi - Hierapolis – Pamukkale (BD)
After breakfast drive through the plains and cotton farms to arrive at Pamukkale in time to enjoy the beauty of the lime cascades and visit ancient Hierapolis.

Day 7: Pamukkale - Koycegiz – Fethiye (BD)

After breakfast drive to the lakeside town of Koycegiz where you will take a boat cruise to Turtle Beach and have the opportunity to cover yourself in mud at the local mud bath. Drive back to Fethiye for the night.

Day 8: Fethiye – Kayakoy – Oludeniz – Fethiye (B)
After breakfast depart for the “ghost village” of Kayakoy and continue to Oludeniz and its stunning beach where you will have time for a swim. Drive back to Fethiye for overnight.

Day 9: Fethiye - Saklikent Gorge – Antalya (BD)
After breakfast visit the stunningly beautiful Saklikent Gorge, Turkey’s longest and deepest canyon. After tracking along the canyon continue to Antalya, crossing the Tauros Mountains. Upon arrival discover the Duden Waterfalls. Dinner at your overnight hotel in Antalya.

Day 10: Antalya - Aspendos - Konya – Cappadocia (BD)
After breakfast early departure for Konya stopping en route at the Aspendos ancient Theatre. Upon arrival in Konya, tour the monastery of the Mervlana Whirling Dervishes. Afternoon drive to Cappadocia via Seljuk – a fine example of an ancient Silk Road Caravanserai. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 11: Cappadocia (B)
After breakfast enjoy a full day excursion in Cappadocia including visits to the Kaymakli Underground City Open Air Museum in Goreme and natural fortress in Ushisar. An optional and fun Turkish folklore evening is available tonight. Overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 12: Cappadocia - Ankara – Safranbolu (BD)

Early morning optional Balloon Tour is available prior to the morning departure for Safranbolu. On the way stop at Ankara to visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, burial place of the National Hero who founded the modern Republic of Turkey. Continue to the “open air museum” town of Safranbolu a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tonight your accommodation is an old Ottoman Mansion.

Day 13: Safranbolu - Istanbul (B)
After breakfast visit the old town of Safranbolu where you can taste the fine samples of Turkish Delights before continuing the drive to Istanbul where an afternoon visit to the Grand Bazaar is planned.

Day 14: Istanbul (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
